Colts place S Andrew Sendejo on reserve/COVID-19 list

On Wednesday, the Indianapolis Colts received some good news regarding the status of Pro Bowl long snapper Luke Rhodes. On Thursday, the same could not be said for starting safety Andrew Sendejo.

Sendejo has been in the league since 2010 but is in his first season with the Colts. The 34-year-old played two games with the Dallas Cowboys during his first year and then spent the next eight-plus seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

Sendejo recorded a career-high 84 tackles in 2013 and a career-high seven passes defended in 2017. He played six games with the Vikings and nine with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2019, setting a career-high with three interceptions.

The San Antonio, Texas, native played 14 games with the Cleveland Browns in 2020 and has played in 12 games with the Colts in 2021. Sendejo has made 40 tackles and posted two passes defended, one forced fumble and collected one fumble recovery this season.

The Colts are one of five AFC teams vying for one of the two spots left in the playoff field. They will play the Jacksonville Jaguars at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
