Colts QB Carson Wentz practices, game-time decision vs. Titans

Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Carson Wentz vowed earlier this week to do whatever possible, including "throw the kitchen sink" at treatments, to return from sprains to both of his ankles for Sunday's game at the Tennessee Titans.

Per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, Wentz returned to practice for the first time this week on Friday. Indianapolis head coach Frank Reich told reporters that Wentz was limited during the session and will probably be a game-time decision for the Week 3 showdown depending on how the signal-caller "responds over the next 24 hours."

Reich added: "I’m a little surprised we’re at this point, to be honest," suggesting he assumed Wentz wouldn't be cleared by Sunday.

2020 fourth-round draft pick Jacob Eason began the week the favorite to start in Tennessee after Wentz suffered his injuries in last Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams. However, it was later learned that practice squad quarterback Brett Hundley took the majority of starter reps during Wednesday's practice and that both Hundley and Eason could receive snaps versus the Titans.

One assumes Wentz being at least active this Sunday would remove Hundley from the equation, as Eason has served as QB2 since the summer.
