Commanders blasted for response to announcement from Attorney General

A spokesperson for the Washington Commanders sharply criticized D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine after he announced a "major announcement" on Thursday regarding the franchise.

The attack begins by using running back Brian Robinson Jr.'s shooting incident from late August as a talking point before criticizing the "out of control violence in DC" and suggesting Racine is going after the organization for publicity.

The team's decision decision to lash out and use a player's personal trauma as a defense for potential organizational shortcomings is callous. It's also rare to see a team criticize crime impacting the community without offering any solutions.

Snyder has been under increased scrutiny of late. ESPN reported last month several allegations about the embattled owner, including his paying for private investigators to dig up dirt on other owners and league commissioner Roger Goodell. Snyder emphatically denied the allegations.

Later in the month, reports emerged that Snyder had hired Bank of America to look into a potential full or partial sale of the team.

Depending on what Racine announces, Snyder might not be able to dictate enough angry tweets or throw enough money to cover his problems.

Snyder has been a disaster for the Commanders franchise. Wednesday's announcement is just another reminder that there's always a lower point for the franchise to find with Snyder in charge.
