Washington Commanders cornerback William Jackson III won’t travel with the team to Chicago, and he is out for Thursday’s game against the Bears due to a back injury, reports NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Jackson got benched during the second quarter of last week’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. Commanders head coach Ron Rivera wouldn’t elaborate on the reason for the benching.

However, a frustrated Jackson told the media after the game a bulging disc in his back contributed to the benching. When asked on Monday, Rivera did not deny or confirm a back injury being the reason for Jackson getting benched against the Titans.

Tuesday, the Commanders listed Jackson as limited for practice. Now, he won’t make the trip.

Jackson missed a Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a back injury.

Benjamin St-Juste slides from the slot to outside cornerback, replacing Jackson. Meanwhile, Rachad Wildgoose will play in the slot. Kendall Fuller remains at outside cornerback and will be opposite of St-Juste.

The Commanders used the same alignment against the Eagles and Titans without Jackson in the lineup.
