The Washington Commanders continue to be snake-bitten at the center position.
On Sunday, Commanders center Tyler Larsen suffered an apparent leg injury against the New York Giants in the fourth quarter.
Larsen crumbled to the ground while pass-blocking. He got carted off the field after being attended to by trainers.
After the Commanders’ 20-20 tie with the Giants, Larsen was seen on crutches while wearing a brace over his leg, according to ESPN’s John Keim.
Later that evening, Larsen shared a tweet that appeared to sum up his thoughts about his injury.
Players around the NFL have recently shared their concerns about the FieldTurf used in multiple stadiums around the league.
MetLife Stadium, the home of the Giants, has been considered one of the more dangerous fields, especially after ACL injuries to Giants wide receivers Wan’dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard this season.
There was concern surrounding the Commanders about MetLife’s field going into Sunday’s game.
Tyler Larsen was the fourth different player to start at center for the Commanders this season. Week 1 starter Chase Roullier is out for the season with a knee injury suffered in Week 2. Wes Schweitzer landed on injured reserve with a concussion.
Nick Martin started at center also before being supplanted by Larsen due to performance. Martin replaced Larsen Sunday against the Giants.
