Commanders HC Ron Rivera, Texans HC Lovie Smith fined for offseason workout rules violations

The Houston Texans and Washington Commanders reportedly joined a growing list of NFL teams on Friday to be handed down a punishment for offseason workout rules violations.

In early-June, the Chicago Bears were forced to cancel one of their voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) for violating collective bargaining agreement (CBA) offseason rules.

Both the Commanders and Texans held their mandatory minicamps this week. For Washington, star wide receiver Terry McLaurin's continued holdout has dominated headlines, while in Houston, general manager Nick Caserio addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding former Texans signal-caller Deshaun Watson, who is now with the Cleveland Browns.
