The Washington Commanders were without rookie wide receiver Jahan Dotson during Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. Dotson is nursing a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Commanders face a short turnaround, and it’s unclear if Dotson will return for Thursday night’s game at the Chicago Bears. Dotson does not want to put a timetable on his return.

“I couldn’t really put a timetable on it right now,” Dotson said, per Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post. “Kind of just working it day by day, making sure that when I come back, I’m 100% and there’s no lingering injuries after the fact.”

His long-term health is more important right now. However, the Commanders could have used the former Penn State wideout in Week 5 against the Titans. Washington had 1st-and-goal from the two-yard line with 24 seconds remaining down four with no timeouts.

After two incomplete passes, Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz threw a game-sealing interception with three seconds left at the goal line. Dotson’s absence was felt. Not only does he lead the team with four touchdown receptions, but three of them also occurred within 10 yards out.

The Commanders listed Dotson as “did not practice” in Monday’s estimated injury report ahead of its game against the Bears.
