Cordarrelle Patterson wants to stay with Falcons after career-best season

Cordarrelle Patterson is in his ninth NFL season and playing for his fifth team, but with the Atlanta Falcons he says he finally feels like he found a place worth staying.

"I've been around five teams, eight offensive coordinators; being here, I feel like I'm at home. Why not just finish my career here?" Patterson told AtlantaFalcons.com. "I'm comfortable with all the guys in the locker room, the coaches, you know, and everybody so why not finish my career here?"

Patterson, 30, was a first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2013 and later played for the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, and Chicago Bears before joining Atlanta. While he earned four First Team All-Pro nods earlier in his career for his skills as a returner, the Falcons have made him a part of their offense in a way none of his previous teams did.

Through 15 games as a member of the Falcons, Patterson has a 1,154 yards from scrimmage, six rushing touchdowns, and five receiving touchdowns, all career-highs. He has 200 total touches after never finishing a season with more than 85 before.

Patterson joined the Falcons in April on a one-year, $3 million and is scheduled to become a free agent in the offseason.
