Could Steelers add former top 10 pick to offense?

The Steelers are having an offseason to remember, completely rebuilding their quarterback room with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields while adding key defenders like LB Patrick Queen. They may not be done adding free agents either.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Pittsburgh is one of three teams that former Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, is scheduled to visit this week.

Williams was released by Los Angeles as a salary cap casualty. The Chargers are interested in bringing Williams back after trading wide receiver Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears, but it will have to be for the right price.

It's unknown in what order Williams is planning to take his visits around the league, but if he somehow makes it to the Steelers, they shouldn't let him leave without a contract.

Pittsburgh needs a No. 2 wide receiver to pair with George Pickens after it traded Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers last week. 

The massive 6-foot-4, 218-pound wide receiver could be the perfect addition to the Steelers offense, which is clearly planning to run the football a lot in 2024. He has proven to be a dominant blocker while also having the ability to take the top off the defense.

Williams does come with some risk after tearing his ACL in Week 3 of last season, but it's a risk worth taking with 309 receptions for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns in his seven-year NFL career.

Of course, Pittsburgh shouldn't break the bank for Williams due to his injury history and if another team is willing to do so, then so be it. If both sides are interested in joining forces for a fair price, however, it's a no-brainer.

Williams is only 29 and could be the latest addition to the Steelers, who are no longer playing it conservative under general manager Omar Khan.
