Cowboys All-Pro WR CeeDee Lamb addresses holdout rumors

Rumors continue to circulate around Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb potentially holding out to start the 2024 season.

The All-Pro wide receiver is entering the fifth year of his rookie contract and is in line for a massive contract extension.

Some believe Lamb is willing to hold out until he receives his big payday, but he shut down those rumors on Monday.

"Yeah, I'll be in Dallas," Lamb said in a conversation with TMZ. "I'm looking forward to winning, being out there with my guys and making another run at this thing."

That's great news for Dallas, which starts its voluntary offseason workouts on April 15. Lamb didn't clarify if he'll be there for the early portion of the offseason, but his recent comments support the idea that he'll be with the team during the first mandatory workouts (June 4-6).

Of course, Lamb wants to get paid, and rightfully so after posting a career-high 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. For now, however, he seems focused on doing whatever he can to help the Cowboys contend for a championship.

Lamb says his offseason has consisted of "relaxing, chilling, working out."

That's good because Lamb isn't the only wide receiver due for a likely record-breaking deal.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson and Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase are also seeking new deals, and Dallas may be waiting to see their contracts first. That could result in a longer negotiating period for all three parties.

If the 25-year-old elects to skip the mandatory portion, his remarks will carry less weight than initially thought. There is more than one option as hold-ins have become popular among stars as they avoid accruing fines while avoiding injury until a deal is agreed upon.

Nonetheless, the Cowboys should do whatever it takes to lock up their franchise wide receiver sooner rather than later.
