Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy tests positive for COVID-19, won't coach Thursday against Saints
Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is one of several members of the team who has tested positive for COVID-19, ESPN's Adam Schefter and Dianna Russini reported Monday morning.
The news of multiple personnel testing positive comes as the team finally gets wide receiver Amari Cooper off of the COVID/reserve list.
The NFL recently imposed stricter health and safety regulations for teams ahead of a packed holiday schedule that kicked off last week, although the Cowboys were reportedly already testing players daily because of multiple players having positive tests.
Dallas is coming off of a wild 36-33 overtime loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. They have lost three of their last four games and are about to kick off a stretch of three road games starting Thursday in New Orleans.
