A recent report surfaced that the behavior of Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons is starting to wear thin on the organization, which could end up making things tricky in terms of Prescott landing a long-term contract extension with the team.

However, former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant isn’t buying it.

“Yea he ain’t getting the bag without a smear and that’s messed up… he got kids who will grow up later on in life and nobody care to think about that,” Bryant posted to his X account.

Parsons will absolutely get paid by someone, and it may very well end up being Dallas. But could this be the Cowboys’ way of trying to get leverage in contract discussions?

Perhaps someone from inside Dallas’ organization fed this information to a source in an attempt to lower Parsons’ asking price or potentially to try and use it as an explanation to fans if the Cowboys ultimately allow Parsons to walk in free agency.

Parsons still has two years remaining on his deal, as Dallas exercised his fifth-year option for 2025.

However, the 24-year-old became eligible for an extension this offseason, so the fact that this rumor about his antics surfaced now is certainly interesting timing.

Parsons is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he played every game and racked up 64 tackles, 14 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery en route to his third straight Pro Bowl appearance.

The Penn State product was selected by the Cowboys with the 12th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. He earned First-Team All-Pro selections in his first two seasons and has totaled 40.5 sacks thus far.

We’ll see if Micah Parsons and Dallas can patch things up heading into 2024.
