Cowboys' Micah Parsons talks Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift theory

Fans and other outsiders aren't the only members of the NFL community noticing that Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce has posted his best numbers of the season, to date, when entertainment superstar Taylor Swift is in attendance.

"...I’m gonna tell y’all one thing," Dallas Cowboys star pass-rusher Micah Parsons explained during the latest edition of his "The Edge with Micah Parsons" podcast, per Jaclyn Hendricks of the New York Post. "When there is a bad girl and she’s in attendance, and she’s watching you, that gives you an extra boost of confidence."

The 6-1 Chiefs have thus far won all four games Swift has attended amid her reported relationship with Kelce, and the future Hall of Famer recorded 12 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown in this past Sunday's 31-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers that Swift watched from a stadium suite.

Kevin Patra of the NFL's website noted the 2023 Chiefs, as a whole, are averaging more offensive points and yards when Swift is in the building. Kelce, meanwhile, is averaging 108.0 receiving yards when Swift is in attendance compared to his average of 46.5 receiving yards for games when she's missing in action.

"You know what Kelce’s doing, I know what’s going on," Parsons added during the podcast. "He was already doing it, so now, it’s like, 'Yeah, I’m gonna do it more now.' Like it’s a swagger, it’s a confidence when those things happen. Y’all know how it goes."

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid joked shortly after Sunday's win that Swift "can stay around all she wants," but it makes sense he'd feel that way with Kansas City enjoying a six-game winning streak. As of Tuesday afternoon, OddsChecker listed the defending Super Bowl champions as the overall betting favorites at +450 odds to again hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy this coming February.

The San Francisco 49ers were second at that time at +500 odds.

The Chiefs next play at the 2-5 Denver Broncos this coming Sunday. It's unclear if Swift will travel for that game but worth mentioning she's set to head out for international tour dates early next month.
