Cowboys QB Dak Prescott confirms Week 7 return vs. Lions

It appears that quarterback Dak Prescott will be making his long-awaited return to the gridiron in Week 7 when the Dallas Cowboys host the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Prescott has been out since suffering a fracture to his right thumb late in the team's season-opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On Tuesday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said " I think he can get there ," when discussing the two-time Pro Bowler's chances of suiting up against the Lions. On Wednesday, head coach Mike McCarthy said that Prescott was medically cleared to be a full participant in practice.

Since dropping the first contest of the season, backup quarterback Cooper Rush has kept Dallas afloat and then some. He helped the team rattle off four straight wins from Weeks 2 through 5, before dropping a Week 6 road tilt against the still-undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite holding a 4-2 record, the Cowboys sit behind the Eagles (6-0) and New York Giants (5-1) in what has been the best division in football thus far -- the NFC East.
