Cowboys QB Dak Prescott: 'I'm not playing my best ball' amid 'slump'

The Dallas Cowboys improved to 9-4 on the season via last Sunday's 27-20 win over the Washington Football Team, but Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott largely failed to impress and tossed two interceptions in that contest. He's now matched eight touchdown passes with six interceptions across the past six games coming off a calf injury, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones remarked Tuesday it would be "fair" to say Prescott was in a bit of a "slump."

Prescott spoke with reporters about that subject on Thursday.

"I do realize I'm not playing my best ball, haven't been playing it, have made some poor decisions, you could say," Prescott explained, per Todd Archer of ESPN. "That's kind of part of it. I wouldn't say it's slump material, but I'm definitely not up to my standards or expectations, and when you play at a high level, that's what you create. So I'm glad people have the same expectations for my game as I do for myself."

Prescott added he's using recent chatter as bulletin-board material heading into this Sunday's game against the lowly New York Giants that, truth be told, Dallas should win.

"I've been doubted my whole life, said I can't do this or can't do that, so in a sense I'm kind of glad it's actually come back," he said. "I'm glad that's the way people feel and there's a lot of that being said right now."

He also echoed previous comments made by Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy and declared he's "100% healthy" despite concerns about his calf.

Dallas holds a commanding lead in the NFC East standings and can potentially clinch a playoff berth or even the division title by Sunday night.
