Cowboys QB Dak Prescott to be 'full go' for practice ahead of Broncos game

Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott felt soreness in his strained right calf Friday and was ultimately ruled out of Sunday's game at the Minnesota Vikings. Backup Cooper Rush got the start in Prescott's place and completed 24-of-40 passes for 325 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and Dallas won 20-16 to improve to 6-1 on the season.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday that Prescott is scheduled to practice Wednesday and to be a "full go" for Thursday's session and ahead of this coming Sunday's matchup at the 4-4 Denver Broncos.

Rush's performance isn't the only reason McCarthy may consider keeping Prescott a spectator for one more contest. Dallas is the only NFC East team with a winning record and holds a three-game advantage in the win column over the Philadelphia Eagles and is already assumed by many to be the uncrowned division champion, and Prescott was performing at a Most Valuable Player level before his setback.

Per ESPN stats, Prescott is third in the NFL with a 115.0 passer rating and 12th with a 57.1 total QBR. He has 16 passing touchdowns and 1,813 passing yards on the season.
