The Dallas Cowboys are making an assortment of roster moves as they juggle the lineup ahead of the “Monday Night Football” visit to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Some of the shuffling is expected. For instance, Dallas is signing linebacker Tyrus Wheat up to the 53-man roster. Why? Because Leighton Vander Esch is officially moving to IR … and because newly signed vet Rashaan Evans has been deemed not quite ready to go after “coming off the couch” just a few days ago.

The Cowboys are also elevating linebacker Malik Jefferson from the practice squad to the varsity for this game.

In a mild surprise, the Cowboys in this game are also moving up running back Malik Davis from the practice squad … with the Dallas News noting that this elevation will mark a season debut for Davis. … and a likely demotion for fan and organizational favorite Deuce Vaughn, as the rookie sixth-round pick is not expected to play vs. the Chargers.

Also prepped to make his season debut against the 2-2 Chargers is defensive back Nahshon Wright, coming back from an injury to his ankle in time to be activated from injured reserve just as special-teams ace C.J. Goodwin moves to the IR list for the 3-2 Cowboys.
