The Dallas Cowboys went 2-0 on Sunday after taking down the New York Jets, 30-10. It was another impressive win from Dallas, who were coming off a massive 40-0 blowout victory against the New York Giants in Week 1.

The Cowboys‘ win did not come without incident, though.

Dallas Cowboys Assistant Coach Fainted on Field Vs. Cowboys

In the third quarter of Sunday’s contest, assistant coach Sharrif Floyd suddenly collapsed on the field as Micah Parsons was in the middle of returning a fumble. The good news is that Floyd was able to head to the locker room under his own power shortly after collapsing to the ground.

Absolutely it was scary,” head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday, via ESPN. “And I didn’t see it right away but by the time I got there he was alert, knew what was going on and so forth. Obviously we took the high level of caution but he’s home. He actually was in the office earlier so just going to work from home today. They’re going to check on a couple more things and we’ll check on him [Tuesday].”

Dallas Cowboys VP Provides Update on Sharif Floyd

Dallas executive vice president also provided a timely update on Floyd’s status, who apparently, had to be hospitalized following his incident on the field. Jones said, however, that the 31-year-old coach is now doing fine after he was released from the hospital on Monday:

“Right now everything is checking out well,” Jones said.

Former Florida standout Sharrif Floyd was a first-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings during the 2013 NFL Draft. He played defensive tackle for four years in Minnesota before calling it a career. This is his first season in Dallas as an assistant coach.
