Following Trey Lance‘s move to Dallas, the former San Francisco 49ers first-round pick has listed his California home for sale for $2.88 million. The five-bedroom, 3.5-bath home in Morgan Hill, California, roughly 30 miles away from Levi’s Stadium, was last sold for $2.95 million in March of 2022.

Lance, now the third-string quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, has been in DFW for a month and a half and is apparently ready to plant new roots.

“I’m excited,” Lance said Thursday, via the Dallas Morning News. “Open house this weekend. …I definitely didn’t think I’d be out of there yet, but that’s just how it goes.”

His 4,133 sq ft home in California is now open for tours and listed with Mpire Lux Real Estate.

“Welcome to this stunning 4,000 sqft+ luxury estate located in one of Morgan Hill’s most desirable neighborhoods,” the listing reads. “This gorgeous two-story home features a grand entrance with open floor plan, soaring ceilings, lots of windows with natural light, and solid hardwood floors. This masterpiece boasts 5 spacious bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, an updated kitchen with Thermador Stainless Steel appliances, Sub-Zero fridge, walk-in pantry & butler’s pantry with wet bar, and a great room overlooking a luxury outdoor living space.

“Walk out into an oasis-like backyard with the sound of birds chirping, a retractable cover pool, hot tub, covered pergola with fireplace, 9-hole putting green, gazebo, and lots of fruit trees! Enjoy the peace of mind of a gated driveway, 3-car garage, and paid-off solar system. Located less than a mile away from schools, stores, and restaurants.”

Lance: ‘Closing the chapter’ in San Francisco

The Dallas Cowboys surprised the NFL world when they traded for Lance ahead of the season. The former No. 3 overall pick of the 49ers lost out to both Brock Purdy and Sam Darnold in the QB competition, leaving him the odd man out in San Fran. The team cut its losses and wound up receiving a fourth-round pick from Dallas.

Lance told reporters on Thursday that he is now renting a house in Frisco, Texas, which is near the Cowboys’ team facility at The Star.

“I’m closing the chapter,” Lance said. “I’m excited for the next one.”

In the 2021 NFL Draft, the 49ers gave up a ton of draft capital to take the young QB. A total of three first-round picks and a third-rounder went to the Miami Dolphins for the rights to the third pick. In return, the 49ers got eight games for 797 yards, five touchdowns, and three touchdowns out of Lance.
