The Dallas Cowboys are signing a running back

The Dallas Cowboys are making major changes to the backfield this season and will add another running back to the roster. The Cowboys are making Tony Pollard the featured running back after they applied the franchise tag to him this offseason. The Cowboys have released Ezekiel Elliott after the running back called Dallas home since 2016.

According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Cowboys are set to sign Ronald Jones to a one-year contract for the 2023 season.

Jones was a 2018 second-round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jones, a two-time Super Bowl champion, signed with the Kansas City Chiefs for the 2022 season. He has 505 rushing attempts for 2,244 yards rushing and 19 rushing touchdowns in his NFL career.

Jones has added 77 receptions for 593 yards and one receiving touchdown to his career total in the passing game. He earned a 69.1 overall grade from Pro Football Focus for his play in 2022, as he played 40 offensive snaps for the Chiefs during the regular season and playoffs.
