Dalvin Cook appears interested in this AFC East squad
Now a free agent, four-time Pro Bowler Dalvin Cook reportedly has his fair share of suitors, but recently, he appeared to show interest in joining the New England Patriots.
On Friday, Cook retweeted a clip from the "Pat McAfee Show," which featured NFL insider Michael Lombardi suggesting that the former Vikings back would be a "good fit" in New England.
Cook has also "liked" multiple tweets implying that he should join the Patriots, though he has done the same with tweets mentioning other NFL squads, too.
The 27-year-old seems to be keeping all options on the table. Cook has already commented on potentially joining forces with free agent wideout DeAndre Hopkins. Meanwhile, several AFC East clubs are thought to be in the mix for Cook's services. The New York Jets are among the teams possibly interested in Cook and the back himself recently stated that he would be a "perfect fit" alongside quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with the Miami Dolphins.
Despite four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons on the ground, the Minnesota Vikings released Cook on June 8 after six years with the team. Money ultimately became the deciding factor in Cook's time in Minnesota coming to an end. Cook was due to be paid $14.1 million in 2023 and the Viking gained $9 million in cap savings by cutting him.
While rumors of Cook's next destination are seemingly picking up, we may have to wait a little longer to find out where he's headed. On Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said Cook signing right before the start of training camp makes the "most sense," but added that he might wait even longer if the right deal isn't out there.
