Dalvin Cook debunks rumor surrounding free agency, contract offer

The biggest name still looming on the free agency market is former Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook. The 27-year-old running back has remained patient while seeing how his options pan out, but he's already been linked to numerous teams, including essentially the entire AFC East.

But one rumor that stood out among the others was ESPN's Jeff Darlington stating the Dolphins had an "offer on the table" for Cook, but it was one that he was unwilling to accept. According to Cook himself, that apparently was not the case, which he revealed on a recent episode of 'The Rich Eisen Show.'

Eisen: "Is there any truth to the report that Miami had something on the table for you and you just didn't bite at it, Dalvin?"
Cook: "No, no, that wasn't true."

Cook also admitted that the AFC East as a whole has shown a lot of interest and he even views the likelihood of joining a team in the division as having a "high percentage."

"That's a high percentage for my landing spot. I think those teams have shown a lot of interest in coming to pick me up and having me join their team," Cook told Eisen.

At least based on these comments, it appears fairly likely that one of the Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, New York Jets or New England Patriots could all be somewhere near the top of the list of possible landing spots.

Considering the Dolphins' previously reported interest and the fact the Bills recently lost running back Nyheim Hines for the season due to a scary off-field injury, it's easy to envision one of those two teams getting a deal done with Cook at some point in the near future.
