Dan Orlovsky: Packers offense will be better this season than last year with Davante Adams

To say that former NFL quarterback-turned-ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky is high on the Green Bay Packers would be an understatement.

In fact, there's only one offense he likes better right now, and that's the unit of the Philadelphia Eagles, which is the second-best offense in the NFL putting up 435.5 yards per game. 

"The only offense in the NFC that I have more faith in is Philadelphia. I think that highly of this offense right now," Orlovsky said on ESPN's "Get Up."

That's an interesting take on an offense that is putting up 377.5 points per game but ranks in the bottom half of the NFL in points per game with 18.8, but the former quarterback has high faith in Aaron Rodgers.

And frankly, why wouldn't he? Rodgers hasn't looked all that sharp so far this season (six touchdowns, three interceptions), but he is the back-to-back reigning NFL MVP and winner of four MVPs total.

"No Davante Adams or not, he can do whatever he wants with the football," Orlovsky said of Rodgers. "He can place it any place where he needs to."

Can the Packers be explosive without Davante Adams? While at first glance it seemed like the offense may struggle with a bevy of new receivers — including rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs — but the Packers are still putting up 377.5 yards per game, which is sixth-best in the NFL right now.

They also boast a running attack that's averaging 145 yards per game thanks to the superstar running back duo of Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon.
