Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams felt the need to speak his mind in defense of his fellow wideout Deebo Samuel.

For the uninitiated, Samuel denied an autograph to one of the attendees at his youth camp.

The kid looked dejected as his effort went futile.

For his part, Samuel explained in a series of tweets that he is grateful for being able to conduct a football camp in his hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

He thanked everyone who made it possible and clarified that he wasn’t able to give out autographs on personal items of over 400 campers.

Samuel did hand out an autographed photo to each attendee and posed for pictures with them.

Despite this statement, some football fans will see his act as selfish.

To which Adams had a lot of things to say.

Adams said, “Can’t believe how many of yall went to bash Deebo like that. Yea the video might look like he ignored the kid but u have no idea what the situation was or what it’s like dealing with that at a camp with hundreds of kids.”

He added, “We want to sign everything and love doing it! Nobody is making us do camps lol we love to be there for the kids and have a great time out there with them it’s just not always easy to get to every kid once the floodgates open! That’s all I’m saying.”

Players Have The Right To Deny Autographs

While this gesture puts them in a bad light, athletes can refuse in giving an autograph.

They are humans too and they can refrain from sharing their signature if they don’t feel like it.

Besides, a player or a sports legend denying someone an autograph isn’t new.

If that’s the case, Michael Jordan should be crucified too for his recent refusal.
