Davante Adams on going from Aaron Rodgers to Derek Carr: 'From Hall of Famer to Hall of Famer'

Arguably the biggest move of the NFL offseason was when the Green Bay Packers traded Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders. After eight seasons with the Packers in which he earned five Pro Bowl appearances and two First-Team All-Pro nods, the former Fresno State star moves from a first-ballot Hall of Famer in Aaron Rodgers to his old college teammate in Derek Carr.

Adams spoke on going from the Packers legend to his old friend in Derek Carr. "Any time you change quarterbacks from a Hall of Famer to Hall of Famer...it's going to be a little bit of an adjustment." Clearly, Derek Carr is not Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is the back-to-back MVP and a former Super Bowl MVP. He is arguably the greatest quarterback of all-time and the most talented thrower of the football ever. Carr is a three-time Pro-Bowl selection and holds the majority of all-time Raiders passing records. But, he has no playoff victories in his eight NFL seasons and is not in the same stratosphere with Rodgers in terms of talent.

The star receiver had to clarify his comments later on. "I left one word out because that's not exactly what I meant. But I do think that Derek's career is Hall of Fame-worthy, and why not? Does he have the MVPs right now? No. Has he won a Super Bowl? Not yet. That's obviously what we're chasing."

Even with the loss of Davante Adams, the Green Bay Packers appear to be the favorites in the NFC North once again and a clear-cut Super Bowl contender. The Raiders certainly have a playoff team with the additions of Adams and star pass-rusher Chandler Jones. However, the AFC West will undoubtedly be the most competitive division in the sport with the Chiefs, Chargers, Broncos, and the Raiders all making massive moves this offseason. Green Bay appears to have an easier track to the Super Bowl than Las Vegas, but time will tell to see if Carr can reach the level of Rodgers this season.
