Davante Adams turning Raiders organization around after third-straight victory
Davante Adams lifted the Raiders (5-7) to their third straight victory over the Chargers, 27-20, continuing to prove acquiring him from the Packers was the right move.
Adams shredded Los Angeles' secondary for 177 receiving yards, a season-high. His two touchdowns erased a 13-10 halftime deficit, allowing the Raiders to guzzle momentum, which the Chargers failed to regain.
Over the past three games, the exceptional performances became typical for Adams. He averaged 130.6 receiving yards per game and scored four touchdowns, saving the team's season from falling into a gutter.
In three of the Raiders' five wins, Adams surpassed the 100-yard mark.
His ability to carry the team demonstrates his value. Although Green Bay traded him, his production didn't dip, it increased.
Through 11 games, Adams is averaging more yards per reception. (14.1) and scored more touchdowns (12) than he did last season.
Adams proved he isn't a by-product of some brilliant offensive system. He's a player that can become the top option regardless of where he plays.
While the Raiders' season is far from perfect, Adams gives them hope because he's a future cornerstone they can build around.
It helps when that cornerstone is one of the league's best players.
