In Lake Forest, Illinois, Chicago Bears training camp is underway. As the team held another practice, they had a special guest in attendance to observe. Former Bears’ head coach and now-sports analyst Dave Wannstedt was in attendance.

Coach Wannstedt specifically had a keen eye on the offensive line.

Say what you will about Wannstedt, but he has merit and his resume is pretty impressive. He coached for 40 years between the college and NFL ranks and won a Super Bowl as a defensive coordinator with the Dallas Cowboys. Despite not having coached in nearly a decade, his words still carry water in football.

Wannstedt himself played offensive tackle during his days at the University of Pittsburgh. So it makes sense that he’s busy watching the Bears’ offensive line go through drills.

Hopefully, Dave Wannstedt has some words of wisdom or advice he can share with the unit or the team in general. He knows the rigors of playing and coaching in front of a passionate city and fan base. Since, of course, he was the head coach of the Chicago Bears from 1993-1998.
