David Njoku thanks Browns fans amid uncertain future in Cleveland

David Njoku's future with the Cleveland Browns is highly uncertain. Because of that, the tight end sent out a Tweet on Saturday that sounded like a goodbye to the franchise.

Njoku is under contract for the 2021 season with a $6 million base salary. It's the fifth-year option on his rookie deal and is not guaranteed, so the Browns could release him if they don't think he's worth the cost.

The 24-year-old made strides in 2018, reeling in 56 catches for 639 yards and four touchdowns. However, he missed most of the 2019 campaign with a broken wrist and was pushed out of Cleveland's offense in 2020.

Njoku was the subject of trade rumors throughout the 2020 campaign, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the Browns release him.
