New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has been knocked out of multiple games this year due to various injuries, and things are not getting any better for him.

Carr made a pretty remarkable admission Sunday following the Saints’ 28-6 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The quarterback said he has suffered three fractured ribs this season alone. The most recent fracture occurred last week against the Detroit Lions.

There is no questioning Carr’s commitment, and that goes even beyond the rib injuries. In September, he was briefly hospitalized over fears of internal injury after he suffered a shoulder problem against Green Bay. Remarkably, he was able to start the week after that. He hurt his shoulder again last month, and suffered a concussion as well, but again did not miss any games due to a well-timed bye week. It culminated in yet another concussion and shoulder injury last week against Detroit, but again, once he cleared protocol, he managed to fight through it to play.

The Saints did not have to lean too hard on Carr in Sunday’s win, but he still managed to go 18/26 for 119 yards with two touchdowns and an interception to keep the team firmly in the midst of the NFC South race.
