The Las Vegas Raiders remain committed to quarterback Derek Carr.

Through thick and thin, he remains the starter for the team that selected him in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He finally led the team to the playoffs last season but lost to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Despite the defeat, the Raiders kept Carr on their roster after giving him a three-year, $121.5 million extension.

While he is yet to have a postseason win under his name, Carr continues to perform during clutch moments.

The NFL on CBS Twitter account revealed that since 2015, the former Fresno State standout has the most game-winning drives (29) and fourth-quarter comebacks (23) in the NFL.

Though he has his share of critics, he did well in 2021 with 4,804 yards and 23 touchdowns.

However, it’s time for him to deliver those comebacks and game-winning drives in the playoffs.

Raiders Improved Their Roster Around Carr

The Raiders lost both Henry Ruggs III and Zay Jones.

Those two wideouts could have been huge contributors to their cause.

But general manager Dave Ziegler gave Carr a familiar target in All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.

Carr and Adams have been teammates in college and they look to reignite their connection in the NFL.

Adams played his first eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers and had a solid 2021 with a career-high 18 touchdowns to go with 1,374 yards.

There’s also Hunter Renfrow, who looks to build on his first 1,000-yard season.

Carr also enjoys the luxury of having tight end Darren Waller.

He will have a bigger role in the Raiders’ offense, especially with head coach Josh McDaniels’ two-tight end sets.

Finally, Carr has to improve his accuracy, especially after throwing 14 interceptions last season.

That attribute will come in handy during the game’s final minutes.
