Derek Watt joins brother T.J. in Pittsburgh, signs three-year deal with Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are seriously supercharged with Watts.

The Steelers announced Wednesday that the team has officially signed Derek Watt to a three-year deal. He'll join his brother, standout linebacker T.J. Watt, in Pittsburgh.

The fullback had 42 yards and a touchdown with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2019 and has played in every game of his four-year career. The 27-year-old was used mainly in a blocking role and on special teams, recording 24 solo tackles in four seasons.

The Watt brothers have played together before, both in high school and at the University of Wisconsin. They're now the second set of brothers signed by the Steelers, joining Terrell and Trey Edmunds.

Naturally, the question arises as to whether or not the younger Watt brothers will get the chance to play with their three-time Defensive Player of the Year older brother, Houston Texans star J.J. Watt. Given the recent roster turnover in Houston, it's not completely out of the realm of possibility.
