The Detroit Lions announced that veteran offensive lineman Halapoulivaati Vaitai has been placed on the injured reserve list.

After working his way back from back surgery, which cost the veteran significant time away back in 2022, Vaitai will again be away from the team.

Graham Glasgow has replaced the 30-year-old in the starting lineup at right guard, and the offensive line is coming off a stellar performance on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers.

In corresponding moves, cornerback Anthony Averett and running back Devine Ozigbo were released from the practice squad.

Offensive lineman Michael Schofield and cornerback Kindle Vildor have been added to the practice squad.

Currently, Detroit has one open roster spot after the moves announced.

Potential for waiver wire transactions

Appearing on on 97.1 The Ticket for his weekly radio interview, Dan Campbell was asked if the front office has been looking on the waiver wire recently to potentially add new players.

"Brad's always looking at guys that he feels like if he thinks they can bring something to us, he's looking," said Campbell. "So, we're constantly looking to see if there's anybody that brings something different to us that helps improve us or gives us another option here to help us in any in any phase of the game."
