If the Dallas Cowboys try to trade edge rusher Micah Parsons, the Detroit Lions may be one of the teams at the top of the list trying to acquire him.

There has been some buzz surrounding a potential trade of Parsons recently, as a report surfaced that the Cowboys were growing tired of his behavior.

Parsons became eligible for a contract extension this offseason, and if Parsons’ act is truly beginning to wear thin in Dallas, it may affect negotiations moving forward.

If that ends up becoming the case, it could open the door for a trade.

Cem Yolbulan of Sport DFW views the Lions as one of the most likely landing spots for Parsons in the event of a trade, and given Detroit’s needs, it certainly makes sense.

The Lions totaled just 41 sacks last season, so they certainly need another pass rusher alongside of Aidan Hutchinson. They did sign Marcus Davenport in free agency, but you get the feeling that they need to ad another piece to truly become a legitimate pass-rushing defense.

Parsons would obviously fit that bill.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Penn State, was selected by the Cowboys with the 12th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

He has made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons and earned First-Team All-Pro selections in 2021 and 2022. In addition, he has finished top three in Defensive Player of the Year voting all three times.

Parsons has already racked up 40.5 sacks in 50 games.

Of course, the chances of Dallas actually moving Micah Parsons seem minimal, so this is all probably moot. But just imagine how lethal the Lions would look if they are able to acquire him?
