Dez Bryant goes on Twitter rant over Hunter Henry incompletion

If anyone can relate to what New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry is going through, its former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant.

Henry had a go-ahead touchdown reception taken away in the third quarter of Thursday’s 33-26 loss to the Minnesota Vikings after officials reviewed the play and ruled it incomplete despite the ball crossing the goal line, stating the ball hit the ground, prompting Bryant to go on a Twitter rant about the play.

The Patriots settled for a 25-yard field goal that gave them a 26-23 lead. The Vikings scored 10 points on their next two possessions and held New England to two punts, a turnover-on-downs, and a game-ending 23-yard completion with six seconds left to preserve the win.

“We've got to move on from that play and play the rest of the game,” Patriots QB Mac Jones told reporters after the game. “There was plenty of time left, and there were other times we could have punched it in, and that wouldn't have even been an issue.”

Bryant found himself the victim of similar circumstances seven years ago when he had a reception called back that would have set the Cowboys up with a 1st-and-goal in the final five minutes of a 2014 NFC divisional round matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

Bryant went up and caught the ball over Packers cornerback Sam Shields. But as he was falling to the ground, Bryant extended his arm with the ball in an effort to break the plane, causing the ball to be jarred loose and resulting in an incompletion.

Like the Patriots on Thursday, the Cowboys also lost that game by one score.
