The Seahawks have entered August on a slippery slope. Their franchise QB is gone. Their legendary middle line back Bobby Wagner is now playing for a divisional rival, their excellent  strong safety Jamal Adams is injured again and their head coach Pete Carroll works from home after testing positive for COVID-19.

For a refresher, two of their top young players competed in training camp. Check out DK Metcalf and EDGE Darrell Taylor argue and then fight to practice.

These things are typical in training camp were you see defensive and offensive players get into it. Over the weekend Buffalo Bills’ defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and quarterback Josh Allen got into it, according to CBS Sports Jordan Dajani.

Analyst thinks you should not sleep on the Seahawks this season

Seahawk fans need a shot of positivity. Not long before the start of their first post-Russell Wilson pre-season, the team is in a bit of a mess.

Drew Lock and Geno Smith cannot score against an unproven defense, Pete Carroll is home with COVID-19, Jamal Adams is hurt again, and DK Metcalf is battling teammates during training camp. Following Metcalf signing a three year extension worth $72 million.

Emory Hunt was recently featured on CBS Sports HQ  and shared that the Seahawks will be better than their projection and they will finish ahead of division rival 49ers this season.

“I’m going the Seattle Seahawks to finish with a better record than San Francisco. So, I look at Seattle’s run defense, their ability to run the football, Geno Smith getting a second chance to be a starter,” said Hunt.

“He is going to relish this opportunity and he has his best weapons that he’s ever had since he was a starter. He didn’t have that with the Jets he going have a better situation here in Seattle. I like the Seahawks to finish with more wins than San Francisco.”

DK Metcalf reveals why he’s glad to still be a Seahawk

Metcalf recently made an appearance on Wyman and Bob after signing his extension with Seattle and revealed why he was sticking around.

“It was a long process, and yes, I had my doubts at times, but I’m glad that we were able to get something done,” Metcalf told hosts Dave Wyman and Bob Stelton. “We’re on the other side now, and all of that negotiation process is in the rearview mirror and I’m just glad to be back with the team.”

He added, “I mean, this is the place that drafted me so of course I’m always gonna love them for that. But just the environment, like the people that work inside the building, just make it an easy place to come up here every day and I can just enjoy myself while my family is back home, and they know that I’m in good hands – they’ve met everybody up here. So I mean, it was just an easy decision at the end of the day that I really just wanted to be here because of the people.”
