Dolphins' Bradley Chubb 'excited' to play Aaron Rodgers twice a season

New York Jets fans aren't the only members of the NFL community hyped that quarterback Aaron Rodgers has finally made his move from the Green Bay Packers to the Big Apple.

"I’m excited," Miami Dolphins edge-rusher Bradley Chubb said during a news conference about the Jets-Packers trade, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. "It’s an opportunity to play against one of the best quarterbacks that ever played the game. I’m excited to compete against that twice a year. Each time I play him, it brings out the best in everybody."

Chubb is relatively new to the AFC East rivalry involving the Jets and Dolphins. The 26-year-old featured for the Denver Broncos from the 2018 NFL Draft until Denver traded him to Miami last fall, and Nick Shook of the league's website noted in November that the Dolphins and Chubb subsequently agreed to a five-year, $110M contract extension.

NFL vice president of broadcast planning Mike North recently explained that schedule makers planned to "do something with" the Jets' biggest games of the upcoming campaign now that they have Rodgers as they attempt to end the league's longest active playoff drought. The Dolphins also should make for some must-see broadcasts as they look to return to the postseason while hoping that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa can remain healthy through the fall and early winter.

"Everybody knows that we got A-Rod this week, so we got to be on our Ps and Qs," Chubb added about future Jets-Dolphins matchups. "Now we’ve just got a division full of great quarterbacks. So I’m excited to be in the mix and be competing towards the end of the year when it really counts and stuff like that. So it’s gonna be fun."

It remains unknown if Rodgers will play for New York or any team beyond the 2023 season, so Chubb had better enjoy seeing the Hall of Famer as an opposing quarterback across the next two games involving the Dolphins and Jets.
