Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier may see the fruits of his labor materialize soon.

Since he took over the role, the team has gone to the playoffs only once and had three losing seasons after that stint.

But for back-to-back seasons, the Dolphins have had winning records despite missing the postseason.

This offseason, the Dolphins did a masterful job in building their roster by bringing in the likes of Tyreek Hill, Chase Edmonds, and Terron Armstead, to name a few.

This could be the start of an era wherein the Dolphins will become permanent playoff fixtures.

If that’s the case, the organization will extend Grier’s contract.

As he continues to improve the Dolphins’ championship hopes, his brother hopes to do the same with the San Jose Sharks.

In a statement published by the Dolphins official Twitter account, Grier congratulated his brother Mike for becoming the Sharks’ general manager.

He said, “I am incredibly happy and proud of Mike. The San Jose Sharks organization is getting a man of high character and integrity.”

Chris added, “Mike will bring his work ethic and passion every day to the job. Mike understands the game with intelligence, experience, and knowledge to succeed as a GM.”

A Quick Glance At Mike Grier’s Career

Grier was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the ninth round of the 1993 NHL Draft.

He also played for the Washington Capitals, Buffalo Sabres, and the Sharks.

He had a second stint with Buffalo before suiting up for the Boston Bruins.

Grier played his 1000th career game in November 2010 and retired in December 2011.’

After his retirement, he served as a scout for the Chicago Blackhawks and assistant coach for the New Jersey Devils.

Before becoming the Sharks’ general manager, he also served as hockey operations advisor for the New York Rangers.

Grier is hoping to bring the franchise its first Stanley Cup during his tenure.
