Dolphins HC Brian Flores: QB Tua Tagovailoa will 'hopefully play' vs. Jaguars in London

All signs continue to point to Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returning to the field and the lineup for Sunday's game versus the winless Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

According to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN, Tagovailoa practiced on Wednesday, one day after the Dolphins designated him to return off injured reserve. The 23-year-old hadn't worked on the practice field since he suffered fractured ribs in the Week 2 loss Buffalo Bills.

"We're excited to get him back. I know he's excited to be out there," Miami head coach Brian Flores said of his QB1. "We'll take it one day at a time, still. We're moving enough in the right direction that he'll be out there. He'll have the opportunity to practice and hopefully play in the game."

Dolphins backup Jacoby Brissett replaced the injured Tagovailoa over the past several weeks but failed to guide the club to a single victory in three attempts. Injury was added to insult for Brissett when he hurt his hamstring in this past Sunday's 45-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tagovailoa, meanwhile, completed 16-of-27 passes for 202 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Week 1 win over the New England Patriots, Miami's lone victory of the season.

Flores added that neither Tagovailoa nor Brissett is 100% during the week but that his "expectation is that both guys will be available" against Jacksonville.
