For a couple of years, Tyreek Hill and Eli Apple had a fierce rivalry on the field. Now, they find themselves on the same team. The Miami Dolphins have Super Bowl aspirations and with star cornerback Jalen Ramsey going down, the team needed to add some cornerback depth. They signed Apple and Hill was asked about his reaction to the signing.

Dolphins Tyreek Hill Pokes Fun At Eli Apple

Apple already stated that it is “all love” between the two players. This time it was Hill’s turn.

‘Well, when I heard about it, coach had called me. He was like, ‘Hey, Reek, we finna sign somebody.’ I was like, ‘Who y’all finna sign?’ He was like, ‘We finna sign Eli Apple.’ I was like, ‘Aight, cool.’ He was like, ‘You ain’t got a problem with that?’ I was like, ‘Nah, I ain’t got no problem with that. Why would I have a problem with that?’

So I just feel like a lot of people, it just get fed into what’s going on in social media, and that’s not really what it is. I was fired up for us to be able to add another competitor to this team because that makes us better in the long run, having that cornerback depth. Eli, he’s a great guy. I know we had some battles, but at the end of the day, man, we’re all trying to win. We’re all trying to get better.”

He ended with, “And now, my looking from it is now I get to embarrass him every day.” It’s all good in the Dolphins camp between the two players.

High Expectations For 2023

Miami really needs Apple to step up. Ramsey was supposed to anchor the defense but now is out most likely until December. The good news is that legendary defensive coach Vic Fangio is leading the unit. He should be able to help the team cover the loss of Ramsey well. The offense has the potential to be special with Hill stating that this is the year he will reach 2,000 yards receiving. The AFC is tough but if a couple of things go Miami’s way, they could make a run.

Tyreek Hill and Eli Apple will be key parts of the team this year. Will they be able to take the division?
