The Detroit Lions acquired receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones at the trade deadline last week. We expect him to be a big part of the Lions offense going forward. But that might have wait another week.

Peoples-Jones popped up with a rib injury on the injury report on Wednesday. It turns out that this is an injury that Peoples-Jones suffered with the Browns before the Lions made the trade.

"That was something that came up there." Campbell said. "Obviously we did the physical and everything. And we felt like there was nothing that was severe."

That injury, and the fact that he's still new tot he team learning the playbook, could keep him out of the lineup on Sunday. The Lions have yet to say for sure either way, but their comments seem to point the direction of Peoples-Jones making his debut at home against the Bears next week.

"We want to get him up to speed anyway with what we're doing offensively. He's been practicing, and he's looked pretty good and we'll make a decision on whether we bring him or not, or activate him or not, I should say, over the next day or so.

More than anything, it'll be talked to him, talk to Ben (Johnson) and just trying to gather all the facts and see where we're at. I want to make sure he's comfortable to. We have that luxury right now. We're pretty good in the receiver room. So we'll see."

He's right. The Lions do have a strong receiver room that can afford to go another week without Peoples-Jones. This way when plays against the Bears in Week 11, he'll have three weeks of looking at the playbook and two weeks of practices under his belt. That way the Lions will also have him worked into what they want to do with their offense.

We'll see in the next couple days what the Lions decide to do. We'll have that news for you as soon as we know.
