Drew Brees details 'crazy hobbies' he's taken up since retiring

Drew Brees appears to be having fun in retirement.

The former New Orleans Saints quarterback appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday to discuss his recent retirement from the NFL and how he's staying busy with more time on his hands than ever before.

Brees told DeGeneres that he's gotten into some "crazy hobbies," including a water sport called eFoiling, which has become insanely popular over the past year.

"EFoiling is basically — so people have probably heard of a foil; it's basically a surfboard that has like a mast and a fin structure that kind of drops below it. It allows you to ride on really bigger swells. You don't necessarily have to catch waves, you can just ride big swells out in the middle of the ocean," Brees said. "Well, then they decided, 'Well, wouldn't it be cool if we added a motor on here and a battery.' So that's the eFoil and it is a crazy experience. It's a cross between surfing and flying, which I'm really not good at either, but I can do this, which is pretty cool."

He even posted a photo of himself preparing to eFoil on Instagram, saying, "You know what time it is!"

Although Brees is retired, he only has a couple of months until he begins his new job as an analyst for NBC Sports' "Football Night in America" and Notre Dame football.
