The Eagles opened their second week of training camp on Monday morning and were looking to get continued growth across the roster. As always, a lot of things happened. Here are some of the biggest takeaways from Monday’s practice.

First and foremost, the Eagls will be holding their first fully-padded practice of the summer tomorrow, so expect some fireworks!
Elsewhere, Grant Calcaterra picked up a hammy injury and does not have a timetable to return.
Jalen Hurts settles down
We’ve seen some highs and lows from Jalen Hurts through the opening few days of camp. Today, the Eagles QB was solid and accurate on intermediate throws, while the deep shots seemed to disappear for today at least. This was probably by design for a multitude of reasons, so no need to panic that he’s not pulling the trigger.
In the end, today was a good practice for Hurts, who improved from the last two practices. His timing was solid and he showed good poise.
Having no turnovers help too.
As for the Eagles QB2…
A pair of picks isn’t exactly the best way to start the week, but it is worth noting that this was against the first-team defense. If anything, a slow start to camp should only encourage rookie UDFA Carson Strong to step up and see if he could maybe give the former Jags signal-caller a run for his money.
Miles Sanders hits the ground running
He’s been the talk of the town this past week, and that isn’t likely to chane any time soon if he can keep running as hard as he is.
Miles Sanders busted out multiple top runs in practice on Monday and continued to show solid vision and speed. Entering a contract season, Sanders has been looking to prove his critics wrong and is certainly looking like it.
Jordan Davis could be a monster for the Eagles
How many 340lbs defensive tackles have the speed and strength that Davis has?
The answer- none. Nick Sirianni was pleased with the weight that Davis entered camp in. He’s shown how important that is as well.
Davis made a number of plays in practice Monday and showed the balance of speed and power that people look for in as a top 15 pick. Davis had been running with 1’s and has looked dominant.
