There are a lot of frustrated Philadelphia Eagles fans out there after the Birds' back-to-back embarrassing losses against the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.
However, before you start pointing fingers at the coordinators' play-calling, Eagles veteran left tackle Jordan Mailata has something to say.
During a recent appearance on 94WIP Sports Radio, Mailata revealed that Eagles' offensive coordinator Brian Johnson initially took ownership of his "poor play-calling" against the Niners and learned a lot from his mistakes ahead of Week 15.
Contrary to what others are thinking and saying, Mailata said that Johnson did "a great" job play-calling in Dallas.
Mailata had nothing but high praise for Johnson and instead, blamed his and his teammates' lack of execution.
"You can’t win games when you turn over the ball, get silly false starts, Mailata said. "...There’s been tremendous growth from Brian’s side, we’re just doing a terrible job at executing the plays he’s called."
He's not wrong.
The Eagles fumbled the ball three times on Sunday night, including two fumbles in the red zone.
A handful of deep passes were also dropped, meaning more missed opportunities.
Head coach Nick Sirianni is on the same page as Mailaita and refuses to single anyone out of a "team" sport.
He also said that he has "total confidence" in his staff and players to fix their mistakes and finish strong
"I feel good with the people that we have in this building," Sirriani said on Tuesday. "We're 10-3. We're in control of our own destiny. We're going to keep rolling and finding answers with the people that we have."
