Bengals cornerback Eli Apple had the best year of his NFL career last season.

He started 15 games for Cincinnati and was a consistent presence in their secondary, finishing with 49 tackles, 10 passes defensed and two interceptions in 16 contests.

Apple played well, but he might be known most for his sparring with fans on social media. The 26-year-old poked fun at opponents, fans and media throughout the 2022 campaign.

"Trolling the trollers," Apple told Dan Hoard on the Bengals Booth podcast

Apple signed a one-year, $4 million contract with Cincinnati this offseason. He's expected to start alongside Chidobe Awuzie and Mike Hilton this year.

It doesn't sound like he's going to stop tweeting or "trolling" anytime soon.

"I'm never really angry even if I come off as such," Apple said. "Try to have fun with it. Never take anything personal. I know a lot of people don't like it, but it's just the way I interact."

The Bengals did draft Cam Taylor-Britt in the second-round (60th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. The rookie will likely backup Apple and Awuzie, barring something unforeseen in training camp.
