Eli Manning: Tom Brady still bothered by Giants' Super Bowl wins

Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is the only person to defeat Tom Brady twice in the Super Bowl, defeating the New England Patriots in 2008 and again in 2012.

Manning never brings up the Super Bowls when he's around Brady, but, apparently, the six-time Super Bowl champion tends to discuss them, indicating that he's still upset about the losses.

"It's one of those things, it's not something I ever say or ever think a lot about," Manning told Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. "I've been around Tom numerous times, and I've never brought up a Super Bowl or our games versus them. He actually brings it up. It still bothers him a little bit, especially the '07 one when they had the chance to go down as the greatest team of all time.

"But I don't have any bragging rights with Tom. This is his 10th Super Bowl, and I'm so impressed with his whole career."

New York's 2008 title win is considered one of the greatest upsets in Super Bowl history. The Patriots entered the game with an undefeated record and were 12-point favorites. They lost 17-14. In 2012, the Patriots sought revenge for their earlier Super Bowl loss to the Giants. Instead, they lost 21-17 after going 13-3 during the regular season.

Brady is 6-3 in the Super Bowl, with his other loss coming to Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. He now enters his 10th Super Bowl as an underdog against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 43-year-old struggled early on this season, going 7-5 before Tampa Bay's bye week. Since then, the Buccaneers are 7-0 and on the verge of winning their first Super Bowl since 2003.

Brady had one of the best seasons of his career this year, completing 65.7% of his passes for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns against 12 interceptions. Brady hadn't thrown 40 or more touchdowns since 2007 when he threw 50.
