ESPN ranks Vikings' Dalvin Cook as fourth-best running back

Minnesota Vikings starting running back Dalvin Cook is an absolute star. If there were some that did not believe that, they might want to think again. In a recent ESPN survey that was voted on by 50 NFL coaches, players, executives and scouts, Cook was voted as the fourth-best running back. He was slotted right behind Tennessee Titans star Derrick Henry, Indianapolis Colts MVP candidate Jonathan Taylor and Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl back Nick Chubb.

After having a rocky start to his career, playing in just 15 regular season games out of a possible 32, he started to hit the ground running. The former Florida State star has made three consecutive Pro Bowls after totaling almost 5,000 total scrimmage yards (4,955) and 36 touchdowns in each of the last three seasons. His best season came in 2020 when he rushed for a career-high 1,557 yards and 16 touchdowns. He is averaging a career yards-per-touch mark of 5.3. He has also stayed healthier over the last three seasons, playing in 41 regular season games out of a possible 49. He is the focal point of Minnesota's offense despite them having a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback in Kirk Cousins and two All-Pro receivers in Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen.

Looking at the upcoming season, the 26-year old is fully healthy. He is hoping to have his first full season in his career. With the creative Kevin O'Connell taking the reins in year one as the Vikings' head coach, Cook is set up for a lot of potential yards. Look for Cook to explode in year six in Minnesota. He is officially a top five running back in the NFL.
