Eugene Chung won't reveal who told him he was 'not the right minority' during NFL interview

Eugene Chung says that he will not reveal the name of the person who told him he was "not the right minority" during an interview for an NFL coaching job.

"I'm not looking to shame anybody, I'm not looking to call anyone out, or name names ... what good comes of that?" Chung told ESPN. "I really don't think he was saying it in a discriminatory or malicious way; it was matter of fact."

Last week, Chung told the Boston Globe about the incident during an interview and, as a result, the NFL says it has launched an official investigation into Chung's claim. Chung says that he was not trying to cause any trouble by publicly sharing the comment made towards him during the interview.

"With everything that's going on in this country and in the world, I have stayed quiet, and I've always kept my head down..." Chung said. "I don't feel like I'm causing trouble, I'm just bringing information to light."

Chung, who is Korean, played offensive tackle for the Patriots, Jaguars and Colts during his NFL career before retiring. In 2010, he returned to the NFL as the assistant offensive line coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. He joined the Kansas City Chiefs as the assistant offensive line coach before returning to Philadelphia until 2019.
