Everything is coming full circle for Jalen Hurts as Eagles face Packers in Week 12

A lot has changed since the last time Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts played against the Green Bay Packers.

Prior to that  game — Week 13 of the 2020 season — Hurts was primarily used as a gadget quarterback to electrify a stagnant offense that ranked in the bottom half of scoring. That all changed against the Packers.

The Eagles benched Carson Wentz in the second half of the game and inserted Hurts to see what he was capable of. Hurts remained the Eagles starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

Hurts went 5-of-12 passing for 109 yards and a touchdown in his first real chance at playing quarterback. He helped the Eagles make the final score respectable in the 30-16 loss.

The Eagles went 4-11-1 in a lost season. It seemed a long rebuild loomed over the horizon.

Fast forward to 2022...

The Eagles have a new head coach in Nick Sirianni. The offensive personnel are completely different. And the Eagles are 9-1. Heck, even Hurts' jersey number is different. He wore No. 2 in 2020 and has worn No. 1 since 2021, his first season as full-time starter.

Remember when everyone questioned the Eagles drafting him in the second round? Well, no one is criticizing the decision now. It's a testament of Hurts' development from backup quarterback to MVP candidate.

It seems everything has come full circle for Hurts. As the unquestioned leader of an Eagles squad hungry for a Super Bowl ring, Hurts will go up against the team that started it all for him.
