Ex-Chiefs teammate Mitchell Schwartz: Patrick Mahomes is NFL's best player

Not all former Kansas City Chiefs are throwing shade at quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

On the NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" on Thursday, recently retired offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz put Mahomes No. 1 on his list of top five NFL players.

"I still have Pat No. 1 because the quarterback is the quarterback, and I think Pat is still the best out there," said the former Chief.

Rounding out Schwartz's top five are DT Aaron Donald (Rams), OT Trent Williams (49ers), guard Zach Martin (Cowboys) and QB Aaron Rodgers (Packers). He put Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce sixth.

Earlier this offseason, wideout Tyreek Hill said that his new quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, is a more accurate than Mahomes. Hill was traded from Kansas City to Miami in March.

Earlier this week, former Chiefs wideout Sammy Watkins, now with Green Bay, said Rodgers is "on a whole 'nother level" from Mahomes.

On the show, Schwartz also said that had the Chiefs' offensive line been healthy in 2020, Kansas City would have defeated Tampa Bay to become back-to-back Super Bowl champions.
