Ex-Dolphins, Jets WR Brandon Marshall gets Patriots tattoo after losing bet

Six-time Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall played for two teams in the AFC East, but the New England Patriots weren’t one of them.

But now, the Patriots will occupy a permanent place in Marshall’s life after he recently debuted the newest piece of the tattoo sleeve on his right arm— a Patriots logo — courtesy of a lost bet with former Pats receiver Julian Edelman.

"A bet's a bet," Edelman wrote on a recent Instagram post. "And [Brandon Marshall] is a man of his word. Thanks for saving me Patriots."

The wager was made two weeks ago on an episode of “Inside the NFL,” in which Marshall would have to get a Pats tattoo if New England beat the New York Jets in Week 11, and Edelman would have to get a Jets tattoo if New England lost.

The Patriots won 10-3 on an 84-yard punt return from rookie Marcus Jones with five seconds left in the fourth quarter. It was the 14th straight win for the Patriots over their AFC East rival.

"For the rest of my life, every single Jets-Pats game, I'm going to take a photo booth outside of the stadium and all Pats fans can take a picture with me for $20,” Marshall joked.

Marshall had 168 receptions for 2,290 yards and 17 touchdowns and made one Pro Bowl in two seasons with the Jets. He recorded 167 receptions for 2,228 yards and nine touchdowns while making a Pro Bowl in two years with the Dolphins.
